So you really are a Mario fan?
It's nice to see a Mario fan who isn't just a raving fanboy/girl. Who see the series for it's whimsical charm and warm atmosphere instead of "OMG PEACHxMARIO SO CUTE I LOVE WALUIGI YOSHI IS SO CUTE!!!!!" people.
Because, to tell the truth, if you're looking for deep characters and amazing story lines, you're in the wrong place. But that's not what I love Mario for!
However, most people take it too far and make everything for kids be too sugar coated and cutesy to be of interest to anyone, but Paper Mario definitely balanced the cartoony fun with the impending doom. If you can let yourself get lost in the story, soon you too will be fighting for the Mushroom Kingdom and wanting to destroy Bowser.
At the very least, it's better than what Nintendo puts out now. They have so little story that they're literally wasting your time trying to say anything at all. They make it all about the action...
