Fishmael
in New Paper Mario style.

He's a fishing buddy of Goombas and can be seen fishing at the port of Toad Town.

I wanted to change his appearance because I didn't like that fish thing and made him a Pianta because their builds are really similar to each other. If you imagine the lower lip gone, the resemblance is quite intriguing. Maybe he was some kind of prototype for the Piantas.

Edit: I changed his appearance thanks to some suggestions I recieved in the comments.

I remember him! It took me forever to find the whale. I thought it was the fish. I went a little farther and there was the freaking whale.

Hmmm, I don't think a pianta is very fitting for him as it just doesn't feel right looking at him revamped as a different species. However, you did a great job here!

Ah, OK! It is your own idea after all, and you can't please everybody, so that's a good point. I still love the way you drew him. Do you use Illustrator?
