My first Action Script game, which I created during a course in programming. There are still lots of bugs... but at least it has a hipster star field background.
Hmm, not bad. I'm not familiar with this type of programming so I'm not certain on your constraints, but I noticed that when I flew off the bottom of the screen, my bullets didn't appear. I'm sure this is a part of the game to delete bullets that cross boundaries, so that's fine, but perhaps you can make it so the ship can't move completely offscreen? Just a note. Otherwise, very well made. Reminds me of my first video game. Good times.
Yeah, I forgot that. When I played it, I just never flew out of the screen so I kinda forgot it. But it should be easy to fix. What bothers me more is the fact that it starts to lag when enemies overlap...
Also, you might want to increase the speed of the player's ship a tad, it's tough hitting the enemies when they fly faster than you. I hope I don't sound rude, it's a very well made game. Just critiquing as requested. ^.^
If you ever want to take a break from coding and go for more of an event based game programming, I recommend Game Maker if you ever have free time. It's nothing really serious unless you pay for the premium stuff, but it's fun to play with.
I'm also going to take this opportunity to shamelessly plug my first full game I ever made; your game really reminds me of it: [link]
